Black Pine Animal Park in Albion, Indiana (just 35 minutes north
of Fort Wayne) is a non-profit exotic animal sanctuary. We exist
to give rescued former "pets" and retired performing animals a
safe haven, and to educate people and enhance their knowledge of
exotic and endangered species.
The sanctuary moved to an all-new 18-acre site in 2006 and
re-opened in 2007. This beautiful country site is surrounded by
native wildlife and a pine forest. Scattered throughout are
animal habitats housing over 47 exotic and endangered species,
including Bengal tigers, chimpanzees, lions, leopards, black
bears, camels, birds, reptiles and more! Visitors are provided a
truly unique opportunity to meet the animals up close, interact
with zookeepers, hear personal stories of the animals' lives,
and ask questions. A visit to Black Pine is an experience you'll
not soon forget!
We believe that by allowing others to meet and observe the
exotic animals in our care, we can plant a seed of awareness
that can positively impact the conservation and preservation of
exotic and endangered species around the world, as well as their
natural habitats. Come visit, watch, listen and learn about
these amazing creatures and how you can help ensure future
generations can also enjoy them.
The park is open May through October with regular hours for
general admission and guided tours. Guided tours, field trips,
and special events are also offered year round. Parking is free,
and the on site gift shop, offering a unique selection of gifts
and souvenirs, is open when the park is. Pack a picnic lunch and
enjoy all day admission for one low price!
