Eastern Indiana Experience

Glass making is one of America's oldest industries and Jay County has
many examples of those fragile yet lasting legacies of the past. Gas
was discovered in central Indiana in 1896, and dozens of glass houses
were soon in operation, including seven in Dunkirk and a total of 100
in the area.
The Glass Museum in Dunkirk displays over 8,000 pieces of collectable
glass from 110 factories from all over the world.  Many pieces were
made right here in Jay County.  It is open May 1st through October
31st, Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00am-4:00pm.  Sundays by
appointment.  Special pricing for motorcoach tours.
